{"id":6989,"date":"2022-03-01T09:54:08","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T14:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nptrust.org\/?p=6989"},"modified":"2024-07-16T13:43:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T18:43:17","slug":"how-donors-can-support-refugee-and-humanitarian-organizations-helping-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nptrust.org\/philanthropic-resources\/philanthropist\/how-donors-can-support-refugee-and-humanitarian-organizations-helping-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"How Donors Can Support Refugee and Humanitarian Organizations Helping Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Russian invasion of Ukraine that began on February 24th has stunned the world and received widespread condemnation from heads of state, the United Nations and other international organizations, including the global NGO and human rights communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians flee their homes seeking safety in neighboring Poland and other countries, civil society organizations and human rights groups are working to respond to the fast-changing needs on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many donors are asking how they can help alleviate the suffering that the war has inflicted on a country of more than 40 million. We\u2019ve assembled a brief, non-exhaustive list of humanitarian aid and refugee-serving organizations that are currently working to support Ukrainians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/airlinkflight.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Airlink<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 37-1710848)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Airlink, a charity connecting NGOs with logistics operations, has activated its Europe Regional Response Plan, coordinating 100+ aviation and NGO partners to transport people and supplies into and out of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.care.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CARE<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 13-1685039)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CARE\u2019s Ukraine Crisis Fund will provide immediate aid to those in need, including food, water, hygiene kits and cash assistance. The fund will prioritize the needs of women and girls, families and the elderly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/disasterphilanthropy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Center for Disaster Philanthropy<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 45-5257937)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Center for Disaster Philanthropy established the CDP Ukraine Crisis Recovery Fund, which will address the humanitarian needs of internally-displaced people and refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalmedicalcorps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>International Medical Corps<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 95-3949646)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International Medical Corps has been working in Ukraine since 2014 providing healthcare services and support. The organization is currently working with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and local healthcare facilities and responders to determine needs and provide blankets, hygiene kits and other critical items for refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/razomforukraine.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Razom for Ukraine<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 46-4604398)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Razom for Ukraine\u2019s Emergency Response Fund is focused on distributing medical supplies to Ukraine. The organization is managing a network of partners to procure supplies such as gauze, tourniquets and sterile pads, then ship them to Ukraine and Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.savethechildren.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Save the Children<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 06-0726487)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Save the Children has been working in the Ukraine since the 2014. The organization is delivering essential humanitarian aid to children and families, such as food, water, cash assistance and winter supply kits. They are also providing psychological and emotional care for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unrefugees.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>USA for UNHCR<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 52-1662800)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UNHCR, The UN\u2019s Refugee Agency, has increased its operations and capacity in Ukraine and neighboring countries, to ensure that all Ukrainians forced to flee their homes are safe and sheltered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wck.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>World Central Kitchen<\/strong><\/a> (EIN 27-3521132)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">World Central Kitchen is serving hot meals to refugees at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing between Ukraine and Poland.
